In Australia the main retailers are Kmart, Big W, Spotlight and Target. You can also buy beans at many places online. The bags vary in size, the most popular is the 100L bag. Beans in Australia are generally measured in litres but they can also be measured in kilograms. It can get a bit confusing. So for my big two seater beanbag I was instructed to use 450 litres to fill it. I went off to Big W to buy the beans, they come in a 100 litre bag so I bought 5 of them. It is always handy to have some extra beans so that if you bag gets a little flat you can top it up every now and then. The next part is the hard part. Seriously who would have know how tricky it is to fill a beanbag. My first suggestion is to do this with someone else, a friend, sibling, parent or child (not too little as the beans are a choking hazard.) So first up get the inner bag and open the zip around 30cm wide and get your friend to hold the bag up with the opening towards you.
You may want to go with traditional bean bag fillers and use beans in your beanbag chair. Foam is probably the best and most cost efficient filling. All filling materials are different and all are extremely comfortable. Some fillings are softer, some more durable and some provide more movement. Choose a filling that will create a nice even pressure throughout your whole body. Beanbag chairs come in lots of different colors, fabrics and sizes, the first thing you should consider is what you want from the beanbags. Dry fabrics such PVC or a Vinyl are very durable. Cleaning them is easy as they can be wiped with a damp cloth or use soap or detergent. There are removable, washable covers that are available in many of the fabrics.
Are you a busy professional - an investment banker or a software developer, a lawyer maybe, or a doctor, working long hours? Are you one of those workaholics who feel that they are more at home in their offices than at home? Have you ever wondered what happens to your wife/husband or you boy/girl friend while you burn the midnight oil? When was the last time you went to the movies, took a cozy seat beside your loved one and had a lovely time? In today‘s success driven busy world, though the busy professionals wish to have some time for themselves they are often found to be lacking time, or just too tired after a day of work. This is where Lovesac beanbags come in.
It‘s not until 1969 that the beanbag as we understand it emerged into existence. Italian stylistes Gatti, Paolini, and Teodora were doing work for the Zanotta Company and were striving to develop the ideal type of easy chair to market to 1960‘s hipsters and hippies. The easy chair would have to be trendy, useful, and in-tune with the 60‘s life-style. With the brief understood they began designing this seat and what they ultimately delivered has been referred to as Sacco or the Socco as it became known overseas. It was the Sacco which was the first contemporary bean bag - a pear shaped leather-based bag filled with thermocole pellets that have been latterly substituted for shredded polyurethane foam beads or expanded polystyrene or PVC pellets.
